Established in 1974 Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College has set a bench mark for quality legal education in southern India. The objective of the institution focused on imparting legal education to all sects of the society. The institution was built on strong foundation and has maintained its reputation as a fine institution for legal education over a period of time. Undergraduate Courses
• 3 Years LLB Course
Admission Procedure
Admissions to first year of the 3 year LL.B. course, is strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination.
To be eligible for admission in the 3 year LL.B. course, the candidate should: Have graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognised as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognised as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for three year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under these Regulations.
Be or be less than thirty years in case of general category of applicants and thirty five years in the case of applicants from SC, ST and other backward communities as on 1st June.
Have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
Intake and Reservation
The intake in 3 year LL.B. course shall be 60. While admitting candidates to the course, reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be applied.
• 5 Years BA LLB Course
Admission Procedure
Admissions to first year of the 5 year B.A., LL.B. integrated course, is strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination. To be eligible for admission in the 5 year B.A., LL.B. integrated course, the candidate should:
have successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent such as (11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognised University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognised by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognised by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course.
Provided that applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission to the course.
Provided further that the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission to the course.
Be or be less than twenty years in case of general category of applicants and less than twenty two years in the case of applicants from SC, ST and other backward communities as on 1st June.

The intake in 5 year B.A., LL.B. course shall be 120. (Two sections, A and B with intake of 60 in each section). While admitting candidates to the course, reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be applied.
• Master of Laws (L.L.M)
1. Master of Laws (L.L.M) Degree Programme is being offered by Centre for P.G. Studies & Research in Law at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Mangalore. The specialisation offered by the college is “Corporate and Commercial Law”.
2. LL.M Degree course shall be of one year duration spread over two semesters.
3. Each Academic Year shall be divided into two Semesters
4. Each Semester shall consist of 18 weeks of teaching/research/practical.
5. The courses shall be as given in the Schedule appended. The syllabus for each of the course shall be as notified by the University from time to time.
Library
The main objective of the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College Library is to serve the information needs of the faculty and students of the college. The aim of the library is to develop a comprehensive collection and hold the print and digital resources in an organized manner to fulfill the needs of the users
