RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LAW, PUNJAB

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006.


Courses


B.A.LL.B. (HONS.) FIVE YEAR INTEGRATED COURSE
We offer B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)Five-Year Integrated Programme where under Social Sciences subjects like Economics, English, History, Political Science and Sociology are taught as major and minor subjects alongwith Law subjects in the first three years of study. From third year on wards, the curriculum comprises of Law subjects and one major subject. All subjects are compulsory in the first three years of study. However, in the fourth and fifth year, students are offered specializations in four streams, viz., Business Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and International Law. The successful students are awarded Honours Degree with specialization.

RGNUL follows the Semester System. The teaching methodology includes extensive and intensive class room teaching with emphasis on participative learning. The Courses include assignments, seminars and project work. The thrust of the course is not just on learning but also professional training.

Eligibility:- The Admission shall be based exclusively on the merit in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, to qualify for admission:

The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST)

The age of the candidate must not be more than 20 years in case of General and 22 years in case of the SC/ST and PWD Candidates as

LL.M. ONE YEAR
We offer one-year LL.M. Post Graduation Course with specialization in Business Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and International Law. (Specialization will be offered subject to the condition of minimum five students opting the same)
Eligibility:- The Admission shall be based exclusively on the merit of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The candidate must have passed the LL.B./B.L. Degree examination from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law or any other University whose degrees are recognized by this University, with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) shall be eligible for admission to the course.


Library


The air conditioned university library is an example of excellence. With world class library services and rich collection of books and journals, this computerized Wi-Fi library has on its shelves more than 28,000 volumes which include a comprehensive array of legal resources in both print and electronic formats. The library has implemented Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology which facilitates auto-issue and return of books. A very prestigious project of scanning of rare books has been started with sophisticated scanner Bookeye-4.
