Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat (DBRANLU) was established by the State Government of Haryana in the year 2012 under the Haryana Act No. 15 of 2012 under the name of National Law University Haryana enacted by the legislature of the State of Haryana. As a tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a great social reformer and architect of our present legal system and the Constitution, the State Legislature of Haryana through an amendment in 2014 changed the name of this university to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat. The University has its own space wherein the campus is coming up with high speed currently is under construction is situated in the education hub of India – Rajiv Gandhi Educational City, Rai, Sonepat – where more than thirteen renowned educational institutions and universities are located and are functional. The location provides a positive and congenial environment for legal education and professional training besides overall development of students. The University has firmly resolved to impart advanced legal education, to hone practical legal skills and inter disciplinary understanding, keeping in view the requirements of a just and equitable society.
COURSES
B.A. LL.B. (HONS.) Programme
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University is going to start its First batch for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five Year Integrated Course from the academic year 2020-21.
Seats: One Hundred and Twenty (120).
Eligibility for Admission:-The Admission shall be based exclusively on the merit in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, to qualify for admission:
1. The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) of the Haryana School Education Board or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate (40% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates).
2. The candidates shall be required to produce the following certificates/documents at the time of counseling/interview at DBRANLU.
3. 10+2 pass certificate & DMC.
4. Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth.
5. Character certificate from the institution last attended. Gap certificate, if any.
6. Category certificate and other related documents, if applicable.
7. The Candidature of: those who do not clear the qualifying examination with the requisite marks and or fail to produce result on the date of interview/counseling, or those who get compartments/re-appear in any subject in the qualifying examination, shall be cancelled and subsequent securing qualifying marks shall not be considered in any case.
P.G Diploma in Corporate Law
One Year P.G Diploma in Corporate Law
Corporate Law is the law, which deals with rights, relations and liabilities of persons relating to companies, business and organizations; the present course deals with all such aspects. The course curriculum of P.G. Diploma in Corporate Law provides allover development of the students through seminars/workshops/internship and lectures by eminent jurists and legal luminaries. The students will also be provided practical knowledge by organizing lectures of expert professors and advocates from different Universities and courts including High Courts and Supreme Court. The University will make efforts for placements of the students in corporate sector as well as in other related areas. In this era of globalization, there is a dire need of such kind of professional who are specialized in corporate law. This diploma will cater the students at both national and international level with better opportunities. The course will open new avenues for the students by collaborating with national and international organizations/institutions. The course content also fulfills the requirement of the corporate sector with latest curriculum. It includes Company Law, Law of Contract etc. The students will be provided an environment to understand the theoretical as well as practical aspects related to Corporate Law. It is one of the unique courses with distinction and specialization in India.
Seats: Thirty (30) (Subject to filling of minimum 5 seats)
Eligibility:-Candidates who have completed their Undergraduate/Bachelor Degree (any stream) without any re-appear/compartment which is recognized from University/College/Institution recognized by UGC, is eligible for applying in one year PG diploma in corporate law.
1. A person who has passed the Undergraduate/Bachelor Examination with 50% marks in the aggregate shall be eligible to seek admission. (for SC/ST candidates minimum pass marks)
Library
In any educational institution, a proper place with suitable ambience and environment for study with concentration and availability of sufficient resource bank of study material, that is books and modern source of ICT are basic necessity. Our university will provide a well-designed spacious separate library premises with air-conditioned reading halls having adequate seating capacity. The library will be equipped with modern stacks of varied and rich collection of text books, journals, reference books and periodicals along with e-resources. The library will also provide access to many useful legal online databases for the use of the students, research scholars and faculty members as well. Printing facilities inside the library for the benefit of the students and the faculty will also be provided.
Infrastructure
The academic and administrative blocks are built on the latest architecture marvel and are fully equipped with the state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern teaching aids and equipment’s required for academic pursuits. The university is providing air-conditioned class-rooms fitted with latest teaching aids to create a congenial academic environment. It will have a well-stocked library, well-equipped and fully air- conditioned Computer Lab with internet facility. In addition to this, the university will provide a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus. The Language Lab equipped with modern gadgets and learning tools will help in improving the writing and presentation skills of the students. Hostels for Boys and Girls students are complete and Guest House, Canteen, Tuck-Shop, Dispensary, Bank, ATM and Utility Centre are being put in place.
Mooting/ Practical Learning
DBRANLU shall be committed to provide a rich culture of mooting among the students to learn application of law in the legal profession. To help, prepare and train the students in their mooting exercises, the university envisages advanced Moot Court Hall carefully designed to match the standards of the Supreme Court of India and the High Courts. Inviting Hon’ble Judges, judicial officers and practicing lawyers to adjudge moot court competitions and conduct seminars and workshops. Moots shall also be the main part of course curriculum. There shall also be scheduled visits and internships to courts and other related departments such as revenue departments, police stations in addition to internship with lawyers, law firms and other organizations is going to be an integral part of practical learning.
