Commonwealth Law Conference and Law Teachers’ Conference
I recall when the Commonwealth Law Conference was held at Ashoka Hotel in 1972 and also the Law Teachers’ Conference was held at Vigyan Bhawan in early 1973, I had the opportunity of meeting Dr. Naginder Singh, V.K. Krishna Menon, Lord Denning, HWR Wade, M.C. Setalvad, who all visited our stall at the Conference venue. That was one of the memorable moments of my life, meeting such distinguished persons. The list of persons who during this period came in my close contact is too long to narrate the names of all but I wish to mention some quotable and distinguished persons like— Mr. Nani Palkhivala, Shri Gopal Swarup Pathak, Shri M.C. Jamir, former Chief Minister of Nagaland. I shall be failing in my duty if I don’t mention the names of my close friends right from the day they joined the Bar like Mr. D.P. Wadhwa who retired as a Judge of the Supreme Court, Shri H.R. Bhardwaj who was the Union Minister of Law and Governor of Karnataka and Shri H.L. Kumar now the Chief Editor of Labour Law Reporter and author of a number of books on Labour Laws. In fact, Mr. Kumar is the person who inspired me to enter into publishing.
