Prof. S.P. Singh

Prof. S.P. Singh, an eminent educationist and well-known Legal Luminary, did B.A., LL.B., D.L. Taxation, P.G.D Criminology from Lucknow University, LL.M. from Cornell University N.Y., U.S.A. and LL.D. (Hons.) from London.

Since 1967 he has been teaching Law and guiding research work in various Universities, viz., Rajasthan University, Jodhpur University, Delhi University and has served as Head of the Department of Law and Jurisprudence, Makerere University, East Africa. He has also served as Director (Studies & Research) in the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, New Delhi. In 1995 he was appointed as Vice-Chancellor, Lucknow University, Lucknow, where he brought about significant developments including the introduction of 5 year Law Course and establishment of Legal Aid Hospital. After his retirement in 1997, he had served as Professor, Faculty of Law, Delhi University, Founder Director, Amity Law School, Noida and Director General, ALF & ALS Amity University, Noida. Besides, he has been Legal Expert in various Committees of University, Union Ministry and Indian Law Institute. He is presently Emeritus Professor, National Law Institute of India, Global Open University, Nagaland.

Prof. S.P. Singh has written many articles on various issues of Law which have been published in National and Foreign Journals. He also co-authored a publication on ‘Law and Society’ while serving in Jodhpur University.
