Dr Rajni was born when her father, an Engineer by profession was building Loktak Hydro Electric Project (Manipur). In her formative years she was blessed to witness the construction of most valuable Hydro Projects of India. She was acutely aware that she has to do some activity as a mission for resolving twin challenges that India and World are facing (1) Energy Poverty & (2) Climate Change.
After a decade of education in Law (LLB), Management (MBA) & Research (PhD) today she rose to become the Joint Managing Partner of TILA. She also served as Expert Examiner for professional bodies like ICAI and ICSI.
Dr Rajni led TILA Teams for one of the largest acquisition of Land for setting up Solar/Wind projects in India for leading companies such as IREDA, Suzlon Energy, Adani Renewable etc. Under her guidance TILA has also advised Energy Companies for PPAs /Energy Contract Management. Her team also worked for merger and acquisitions for Power PSU’s like SJVN Ltd./ NEEPCO Ltd. Thabks to Dr. Rajni, for supporting Solar Module Manufacturing Companies for BIS /ALMM approvals.
To mitigate Climate Change and remove the curse of Energy poverty globally she Co-Founded Dr. Gopal Energy Foundation a voluntary organisation. DGEF since 2015 has been working for energy transformation by serving the global community with motto of “energy for all”. Dr Rajni’s vision and leadership have led DGEF to incubate several initiatives such as TILA International Conflex on Energy (Motto – Energy Transformation); TILA International Moot Court Competition on Energy and International Laws (Motto—Right to Energy); Electricity Laws—Online Certificate Course (Motto—Capacity building for Energy professionals); International Energy Arbitration Centre (Motto—Timely dispute resolution for Energy revolution).
She is sought –after attorney, for Legal Due Diligence for land acquisition for Energy Projects. As President of DGEF she has been able to highlight “Right to Energy” for resolution of Energy poverty & Climate change.
